About Seaview Estates

Kalapana Seaview is located on the Big Island of Hawaii in the lower Puna District, Southeast of Hilo. This unique residential rural community was created in the mid-1970’s, less than 20 years after the area was covered by the 1955 lava flow. Kalapana Seaview is now the beautiful ocean-side home to a diverse community of people who enjoy the peace and tranquility of rural living in a tropical climate.

The climate is warm and residents can typically depend on enough rainfall to supply their catchment systems. All Seaview’s streets are paved and maintained by the County. Kalapana Seaview Estates has three community-owned parks: the two-acre ocean park providing residents a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the ocean view, the upper park with a covered pavilion and volleyball net where a variety of activities occur, and a third park which remains unimproved for future use.

Is the front lawn public property?

Answer: This park/lawn is private property of Kalapana Seaview Estates Community Association. It has come to the attention of the KSECA Association that all public presence and gatherings at the “lawn” violate the codes of the County of Hawaii and State of Hawaii.

Specifically, the events are unpermitted and do not comply with state and local laws and as such do not fall within the guidelines and bylaws of our association. As a result, we are sorry to say that the public will no longer be permitted in our parks and lawn.

All violators will be asked to leave and their Vehicles will be towed at the owners expense. Any continued presence after a person is asked to leave the premises will be considered trespass and legal actions will be taken against trespassers. Thank you. – KSECA BOARD

Is vending on the lawn illegal?

Are my Association dues mandatory?

Answer: Yes, $100 annually.

What do my Association dues cover?

When & Where are the Association Board Meetings?

Answer: Every first Wednesday of each month at 2 pm we meet at the Pavilion park in Seaview.

How can I become more involved in my Community Association?

Answer: You can attend meetings, volunteer for committees or even run for a position on the HOA board. Being involved is a great way to influence decisions and improvements within your community.
